About

I grew up on a farm near the Canadian border in rural Northern New York, just outside the small town of Brasher Falls. As a young boy I spent a lot of time outdoors on the farm, just exploring the woods and fields and brooks with my trusty Daisy Model 95 BB gun and dreaming up adventures. I really believe this had a profound influence on my imagination–one that continues to this day.

I studied history and English during my university days, and I’ve had a lifelong love of strange and fantastical adventure stories and films. I write in a variety of genres, including martial arts, classic science fiction, horror, and dark fantasy, all with subtle Christian undertones. My first short story collection, Even Closer Than the Sea, was published in 2016. I’ve recently signed a publishing deal with Hong Kong-based Earnshaw Books, and my forthcoming novel is an historical fiction/martial arts adventure set in China, circa 1900.

I now make my home on scenic and historic Cape Ann, Massachusetts, not far from Salem, MA, where one of my ancestors was the foreman of the jury that convicted the Salem witches in 1692. Hmm…that might not bode well for me…
